Sales

Overview of Dynamics 365 Sales 2021 release wave 2

Dynamics 365 Sales is defined as the market-leading sales application that empowers each organization to sell more by understanding their consumers and therefore the manner with which they need to buy— power-driven by information, intelligence, and experiences that folks love.

Dynamics 365 Sales is centred on the client relationship. It helps organizations perceive client wants and drives additional relevant and authentic engagements, enabling sellers to sell more with efficiency.

COVID-19 has accelerated the move to any or all things digital and adjusted expectations for a way customer wish to act with sellers and corporations they are doing business with.

The role of the vendor is evolving customers expect sellers to understand them and facilitate them to build choices that may be in their best interest. To realize this, sellers have to be compelled to recognize everything there's to understand concerning the client, have contextually relevant conversations, and deliver price in each interaction.

For this unleash, we've targeted enabling the vendor to try and do simply that. Sellers are ready to harness the facility of knowledge and intelligence that may facilitate them before, during, and once every interaction.

Sellers can specialize in the very best priority activities and can collaborate with victimization groups at intervals, Dynamics 365 to accelerate their pipeline. Our goal is to assist the vendor in shutting additional deals, faster, whereas being as productive as doable.

1) New Lookup view

In new updates of Dynamics 365, you will get the advanced lookup view. In the previous version whenever a user used lookup view and wanted to know more about the entity then the user had to choose the advanced lookup view, but the issue was whenever we used this process, we need to save our record or discard changes.

But in the new update, there will open a dialog box (model) where you can directly use the function without losing your data.

2) Temporary View

While working on the sales hub on any entity you are working with, you want only some specific field on a particular view to do your work smoothly.

For this, in the previous version you need to go on your solution and edit your entity, there you need to create a view according to your need, after publishing all customization you can access your view and work smoothly but this process took a lot of time.

Now in this new update, you can directly create a temporary view, add or delete the column. The important thing is it is just a temporary view after the main refresh it will go, maybe dynamics will work on it in the future. As for increasing the work speed, it will be surely very helpful.

3) Decoration

From the decor point of view, Microsoft Dynamics 365 has released some interesting updates in wave 2 which are as follows:

  • Check Box model: In this update, Dynamic 365 has changed the style of a checkbox, it is pretty cool than before and looks quite well.

  • Scroll Bar: In this update Dynamics 365 has updated the look and feel of the scroll bar, scroll bar width has changed, whenever you hover over the scroll bar the width will be changed, now it will look a little bit thin and attractive.

Now

Before

  • Hyperlink: Before this update when we hover a record then you had to underline on the record but now it will be done by default and constantly.
  • Pin View: In this update, Dynamics 365 has changed the method of view, before this update we can pin a view according to our need (there was an option of a pin). As per the new update, there is an option to set the default view which can be any specific view for you, according to your requirement.

4) Share a Record

In this Dynamics 365 new update, there is a very interesting update which you will like. According to this update whenever you share a record to any user, that time the owner can give some specific access to new users like users can only read, write, append, assign, share, append to delete to the record.

Here the main access always has the main user, and the owner is capable to give such a role to any user. It will increase authentication and security, also it will save the privacy of any record. A new user will have only those access which permission the owner will give to him.

5) Advanced Model Driven App (Advanced Site Map)

In the model-driven app, the user customizes their Dynamics 365 Look and view accordingly. Customizing a module is always a lengthy process, for this, Dynamics 365 presents an advanced model-driven app that can save a lot of time and make the process easier.

In the previous version, whenever you customized your module, you were unable to see how it will look. But now you can see which entity is required and you can select them accordingly.

Here in the new update, you will find an option of a preview of the module, it will show the final look of your module and save your time.

Deprecated Feature from Dynamics 365

1. Internet Explorer 11 support for Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 is deprecated

Now the support of Internet Explorer 11 for Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is deprecated. After the 2021 wave2 updates Internet Explorer 11 won’t be supportable.

Now this update will affect customers who use dynamics 365 & MS Power Platform products. For customers that use the Internet Explorer 11 interface, Microsoft Dynamics recommends now moving on to Microsoft Edge.

2. Low-density headers in model-driven apps won't be supported with the 2021 release wave 2

With the forthcoming 2021 release wave 2 (Consumer preview in August 2021 and GA in October 2021), the low-density header option, and runtime experience won't be supported in model-driven app forms. Creators have moved away from low-density headers and usage is low.

Low-density headers do not facilitate a highly dense experience and need users to consistently use the flyout for all controls across viewport sizes from small to very wide.

Any current form that is configured to be “low-density” is automatically updated to render in a high density with a fly-out mode in a model-driven app.

3. Form footers in model-driven apps won't be supported with the 2021 release wave 2

With the approaching 2021 release wave 2 (public preview in August 2021 and GA in October 2021), form footers won't be supported in a model-driven app form.

Why is this needed?

A. The footer doesn't meet the Microsoft Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 compliance for accessibility.

B. Form footer highly impacts the data density and doesn't support a good customer experience. Controls aren't discoverable and this leads to many customers usability issues.

C. Makers have moved away from adding controls into the footer and there's low usage of other controls, out of box or custom, in the current form footer experiences.

D. Components created using the Power Apps component framework aren't fully compatible with form footers, which causes usability issues when added to a form footer.

E. Form footers aren't included in the mobile experience or on the view and dashboard pages. This change aligns the form experience with other pages in a model-driven app.

Now, when a record is opened, the main forms will no longer include the footer. Any custom or out of box controls that have been added to the form footer will not be available anymore and you'll be required to remove the fields if they are no longer needed or move the fields to the header and utilize the high-density header with flyout or add them onto the main form.

The suggested approach is to move fields that users need to access regardless of the form tab, a user is on to the header, and set it to utilize the high-density header with a flyout. If there is only one tab, then it is recommended to move it into a new section on the form.

4. Dynamic 365 “Sales bot” is deprecated

The Dynamics 365 Sales bot, a feature that allows users to retrieve sales information through a bot within Dynamics 365 Sales app for Teams will be deprecated with effect from June 2, 2020.

Microsoft will continue to provide support for the feature until July 31, 2020, while won't release any more functionality beyond what is already existing. And you'll no longer be able to receive responses to conversations after July 31, 2020.

The bot won’t be open for new customers; existing customers however may still be able to access the bot from the Chat, but the bot won't answer any questions.

It is our objective to provide a strong bot experience that permits users to retrieve and manage information. Based on feedback from our consumers and usage data, we'll be working on an extensible, powerful set of features and capabilities that will permit you to intuitively access and interact with sales information—among other entities—via a bot interface. We will keep you updated on the timing for when this will be available.

5. Usage of Parature knowledgebase as the knowledge management solution is deprecated

After the 2021 update, the use of Parature knowledgebase as the knowledge management solution is deprecated. This feature is substituted by Knowledge Management features in Dynamics 365 Consumer Service. This feature includes new functionality and features.

The Knowledge Solution setting in the Knowledge Base Management Settings dialog box, which provides a connection to Pasture will be deducted in the forthcoming major release.

Conclusion

Microsoft’s 2021 Release Wave 2 Plan introduces various new features that will help businesses to improve and grow. With advancements in key areas, including warehouse resource planning, management, production, and inventory management, Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (SCM) constantly commits to enhancing a robust and efficient supply chain.
